Things To Do in Novigrad
Novigrad Attractions
Many of Novigrad's Old Town buildings have been replaced or redone, so there is little original architecture there, but the town has a comfortable feel and is a good place to wander around for a few hours, especially the rock walk around the city that takes the place of a beach. The town's breakwater creates a calm swimming area, but access areas for stronger swimmers also are built into the open-seaside.
Be sure to stop in at the Sts. Pelagia and Massima Church. Built in 1882, it has a beautiful ceiling and unusual elevated gallery behind the ornate marble tabernacle. There is also an intricately carved wooden pulpit inside the church and a soaring bell tower outside. Photographers will want to use the citi loggia at the end of Belvedere Street as a frame for images of the sea.
