Bevanda

Opened in 2013, this slick, ultra-modern, five-star hotel and gourmet restaurant is built on a tiny peninsula. The location is the site of the original Bevanda Restaurant, which dates to 1971 and has long been recognized as one of Croatia’s top seafood eateries. There are just ten rooms and suites in the hotel, all with floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto private balconies, so you wake to amazing views over the Kvarner Gulf at your feet. Bathrooms, partitioned from bedrooms by glass walls, have Jacuzzis and are stocked with Lanvin toiletries. Each room is named after a famous person who has visited Opatija, such as Vladimir Nabokov, James Joyce, and Albert Einstein. Some rooms are interconnected, making them suitable for families. Bevanda is expensive, but it’s also very special, and needless to say you will eat extremely well here. It sits a five-minute walk from the center of Opatija.
