Capitano del Popolo
Chef/proprietor Valentina Santanicchio grew up on a farm just outside of Orvieto, and she brings together her passion for cooking, commitment to locally grown ingredients, and flair for presentation in a former bakery on the town’s market square. Leather couches and upholstered chairs are scattered around an all-day cafe up front, while in back, the dining room has vintage '50s cabinets and tables topped with crisp linens and fresh flowers. Valentina prides herself on a carbonara that rivals the best in Rome, along with spicy boar ragùs and other Umbrian classics including sweetbreads.
