In my reporting, I found the food in Pai to be mostly satisfying but never very memorable. One of the few exceptions: the larp moo at this open-air shop about a kilometer outside of town. This is a traditional northern dish of minced pork fried with local herbs, and it’s perfect with a basket of sticky rice and an order of sun-dried beef.
