This intimate “poem” hotel honors the neighborhood’s literary history (Henry Miller wrote across the way at La Coupole, and Hemingway set up shop at Closerie des Lilas down the street). Each of the 16 rooms has a theme: “Calligraphie” has Chinese characters splashed on royal blue walls, “Musique” features stenciled sheet music, instruments, and giant piano keys, and “Paris–Paradis” pays homage to the city’s skyline. The larger rooms include a Jacuzzi bathtub right in the room—very romantic, but not for anyone who doesn’t want to get naked in front of his or her roommate (the toilet is private). The other rooms come with jet-massage in the (private) shower.
