Solar Hôtel ★★—Declaring itself “the first ecological, economical, and activist hotel,” this basic lodging feature energy-efficient lighting, water-saving measures, and composting and recycling. Breakfast, included in the low rate, is organic; bicycles are available for guests; and there is a nice garden for sipping your fair-trade tea. The bright rooms have a hostel-like feel (although they are private), but the mattresses are firm and everything is clean and tidy. Just around the corner from rue Daguerre, a cute pedestrian market street, the hotel has two buildings.
