The latest addition to Parisian music scene resembles a futuristic cruise ship in the middle of the Seine. Open as of April 2017, this architectural marvel sits on an island in the river next to the western suburb of Boulogne Billancourt. The complex includes recording studios, restaurants, a garden, and two top-notch concert spaces: one dedicated to classical music, and the other for dance, pop music, musical comedies, and other cultural events. The magnificent classical music hall is encased in a huge globe-shaped structure protected by an enormous photovoltaic sail that slowly rotates around the globe, screening it from the sun and producing solar energy. It’s a bit of a trek to get here, but it will be a concert experience you won’t soon forget.
