The Cortesa family has been welcoming guests to this 17th-century palazzo for more than 40 years, providing lots of advice and dispensing excellent coffee from the small lobby bar. The premises have long ago been stripped of any of their historic provenance, and the current reincarnation, with floral wallpaper and dark furnishings, seems like a relic from the mid-20th century. You might be charmed by the extra-large rooms and old-fashioned ambience (as we are) or find the place to be a bit stuffy and out of date, but you can’t quibble with the excellent location in the heart of old Parma just off Piazza Garibaldi.
