Périgueux’s other remarkable church—this one in the Cité area—was a cathedral until 1669, when it lost its position to St-Front. The church was built in the 12th century but has been much damaged since. It contains a 12th-century bishop’s tomb and a carved 17th-century wooden reredos depicting the Assumption of the Madonna.
