This fascinating museum presents extensive vignettes of Roman life based on the ruins of a villa, replete with mosaics and many of the workaday artifacts of everyday life in the ancient Roman provinces. This mainly glass-fronted building was designed by renowned architect Jean Nouvel. A short walk from the center of Périgueux, the site’s recent improvements include several interactive displays, including a 3D movie, and an escape game where players are given 1 hr. to unlock an archaeological mystery.
