The management runs a tight ship here, and keeps the place in good shape. But what I like most about the Tides Inn (beyond the bargain prices) is it's location at the edge of the harbor. The harbor-side rooms give you a front-row seat on the comings and goings of the halibut fleet, with frequent guest appearances by sea lions and bald eagles. Most rooms have a pair of queen-sized beds, and some have kitchenettes. Included in the rate is a continental breakfast and coffee on all day in the lobby, plus a courtesy shuttle to the airport or ferry dock.
