Restaurants in Playa del Coco and Playa Ocotal
A clutch of basic open-air sodas is at the traffic circle in the center of El Coco village. These restaurants serve Tico standards, with an emphasis on fried fish. Prices are quite low—though the quality is good, for the most part.
You can get excellent Italian food at Soda Mediterránea ★ (tel. 8541-8318), in the little El Pueblito strip mall on the road running north and parallel to the beach, and decent tacos with fillings like jerk chicken or beer braised pork at the Chorotacos ★ (tel. 8341-0413), a taco cart run by a Canadian couple in front of SuperLuperon. For a quick or light meal, try Le Coq ★ (tel. 2670-0608), an open-air Lebanese street food restaurant on the main drag in the center of town.
Right on the main strip, you’ll also find Papagayo Seafood ★ (tel. 4080-3496), a dependably good seafood restaurant that often has live music.

The building itself is a rustic wood affair painted in haphazard primary colors, with a pool…$Around Town - Seafood/Bar
The Lookout
It’s worth the short drive or taxi ride to this rooftop bar/restaurant on the outskirts of Playa del Coco, which appeared on the Netflix series Restaurants on the Edge, a show that profiles eateries around the world in particularly stunning locations. Aside from the outstanding…$Outskirts
