This cool hostel is on the map thanks to its emphasis on customer service. Manuel Fontana of Argentina, who bought the quaint blue hostel in 2015, says he concentrates on the three pillars essential to running a hostel: hardware (working air-conditioning and bathrooms in all the rooms, though no hot water); soul (pleasant decoration, lighting, music); and service (24/7 reception, very attentive management). And in case you’re wondering, the hostel, established in 2000, was named after the Milk Bottle Motel in the 1996 John Travolta movie “Michael.” It occasionally hosts surf or cross fit camps.
