Parador de Pontevedra
This handsome Renaissance town house, once home to the counts of Maceda, has been beautifully restored, with a carved stone staircase leading from the courtyard to the guest rooms. Quiet and regal, the parador makes a perfect base for exploring Pontevedra (the basilica is nearby) and for making day trips to O Grove to the west or to the wine country on the southwest coast. The photo above shows the view from the hotel.
