One of the first covered shopping malls in the country—it opened in 1960—Lloyd Center has kept up with the retail times and remains a popular shopping destination with a Nordstrom, a Macy’s, and scores of other small to mid-sized stores, chains, and boutiques. It is also famous for its year-round indoor ice-skating rink. There’s a food court and movie theaters, too. My favorite store is Joe Brown’s Caramel Corn ([tel] 503/2872143), a little slot store beside the skating rink that for over 30 years has been selling absolutely the best caramel corn I have ever found.
