Puerto Banus Travel Guide
8km (5 miles) E of Marbella, 782km (486 miles) S of Madrid
A favorite resort for international celebrities, the coastal village of Puerto Banús was created almost overnight and made to look as if it had been there forever. It’s exactly what a set designer would think a Costa del Sol fishing village should look like—except that the harbor is filled with yachts rather than scruffy fishing boats, and the amplified bells of the King Abdul Aziz Mosque call the faithful to prayer. Expensive shops, bars, and restaurants line the waterfront.
The Nueva Andalucía Artisan Market, Avenida Manolete, next to the bullring in Puerto Banús, is one of the largest and most colorful flea markets on the Costa del Sol. More than 120 vendors offer their merchandise on Saturdays, 8am‒3:30pm.
To reach the town, you can take one of 15 buses that run daily from Marbella or drive east from Marbella along the E-15.
