Another reincarnated original from the ’90s era, this small hotel sits one kilometer (2/3 mile) south of the original, venerable Posada Lafitte. Long-timers have fond memories of the posada and its adjacent spiffy campground, Kailuum, and the current hotel has maintained the same friendly, homey ambiance of the originals. Most rooms are in a three-story building on the sand, while bungalows are buried in coconut groves. Many rooms and bungalows lack ocean views, but are close enough to the sea for guests to hear the swishing surf. Some of the original staff members have stayed with the company, and many long-time guests now are accompanied by their children and grandchildren.
