85km (53 miles) W of Leticia

Located where the Amazon River meets the Loretoyacu, the model village of Puerto Nariño is reached only by boat. It’s a serene community that maintains its authenticity at every turn. The Ticuna and mestizo village of about 6,000 residents is completely vehicle free, with paved footpaths instead of roads, and where recycling (trash, rainwater, etc.) is a way of life. With regular transportation here, good day tours to explore the area’s natural surroundings, and comfortable accommodations, many prefer to base themselves in Puerto Nariño than Leticia.
