This beautiful 37-sq.-km lake—a short peque-peque (motorized canoe) ride from Puerto Nariño—is the area’s favorite attraction. There’s a trail to hike around the lake where you’ll see lots of birdlife in the early mornings and afternoon. In the lake, it’s fairly easy to see pink river dolphins, manatees, and giant Victoria Regia water lilies with the help of a guide. Every hotel or tour operator in town can set up a guided visit for around COP$60,000 per person.
