With a nature reserve of 345 hectares (850 acres) and one of the longest suspension bridges in Costa Rica, Tirimbina offers excellent hiking trails that you can wander alone or with a guide. This center is dedicated to biological research and environmental education, and has been collecting information on local butterflies for many years. Standard rooms all have private bathrooms and air-conditioning; deluxe rooms have a semiprivate terrace. Student dorm-style rooms with shared bathrooms are also available upon request. Tirimbina Rainforest Center, as it’s also known, has bird, frog, and night hikes, plus a bat program.
