New interiors, affordable, and a stone’s throw from any activity on the Plains of Abraham, including summer festival. Sounds perfect. So what gives? The clubs and sometimes high-decibel hubbub along Grande-Allée are not every visitor’s cup of tea. This boutique auberge has updated guest rooms with down comforters, high-end sheets, and splashes of mod decor. The Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec is just down the street and avenue Cartier, right around the corner, has shopping and dining worthy of spending an afternoon. Staffers are friendly and willing to go out of their way to help. One note: on a recent stay, the buffet breakfast, included during low season, did not match the quality of the hotel’s other features.
