After raising sheep for 15 years, Eric Jooris picked up his toolbox and virtually single-handedly transformed the 19th-century stables on the family property into a beautiful country inn. Today handed over to his sister Karine and her husband Yannick, this is still a wonderful place to stay. The beams that used to separate the horse stalls have been incorporated into the spacious lobby, and the upper floor has more exposed wooden beams. The rooms are spotless and fresh, with an uncluttered, elegant look, and all you see from the windows are vast fields and open countryside. Hiking trails take you to Rocamadour, or if you are feeling lazy, you could take a hot-air balloon tour.
