Allenspark Lodge Bed & Breakfast
This three-story lodge was built in 1933 and is my pick for those looking to focus on the Wild Basin unit of Rocky Mountain National Park. Woodsy to the nines, the property captures the national-park vibe better than its peers in Estes Park proper. The Great Room is one for the ages, and the upstairs guest rooms, though small, have period charm, with quilts on the bed, and original, handmade pine furnishings. There’s a sizeable family room with a queen bed and twin bunks, as well as a full kitchen. The complimentary breakfast is first rate, as are the complimentary cookies set out each evening.
