Homeport Historic B&B
An architectural oddity, these two conjoined Italianate homes, built by a prominent shipbuilding family, sit high atop a rocky ridge north of Route 1, overlooking downtown and the harbor. Built around 1858, the Homeport is one of southern New Brunswick’s best options for an overnight if you’re a fan of old houses. Of the ten units, the Veranda Room is among the most spacious, with fine harbor views, walls decorated with steel engravings, floors of hand-cut pine, and locally made antique furniture. The Harbour Master Suite has a four-poster bed and small sitting room good for those traveling with a child or two. Communal breakfasts are served around a long heritage table in the dining room.
