The shopping options on San Cristóbal are quite disappointing, and nowhere near as interesting as those on Santa Cruz. All you'll find here are run-of-the mill souvenirs and T-shirts offered up at a host of small shops along the Malecón and scattered around downtown. If you venture inland from the Malecón, you can try your luck at the Parque Ecológico Artesanal (tel. 05/2520-240), a complex of shops arrayed around a small garden area on Avenida Alsacio Northia, at the corner of Manuel Cobo. However, I find that the offerings here are no better than those near the waterfront.
