Almost a cross between a TGI Fridays and an old Costa Rican homestead kitchen, Nuestra Tierra has waitstaff in traditional garb serving traditional Costa Rica fare to crowds sitting at heavy wooden tables on bench seating. Bunches of bananas and onions and scores of painted enamel coffee mugs hang from wooden columns and beams. Yes, it can feel a bit hokey, but hefty, tasty portions are served (on banana leaves draped over large plates). The prices are a bit high for what you get, but service is prompt and pleasant.
