Most of the guests who stay here do so to attend events at the adjacent Puerto Rico Convention Center. But we have to give the hotel props for its facilities, which include the island’s largest casino, and a superb spa and health club. The casino draws a crowd, and there are popular restaurants onsite, like Texas de Brazil. On weekends, there is as likely to be a DJ show or concert taking place at the Convention Center as a convention. We also like the looks of the Sheraton, its stylish guestrooms and common area, that handsome (and massive skylight) and its vast windows. All that being said, the hotel is a long walk to the best beaches, restaurants and nightlife (most guests rent a car or resign themselves to a lot of time in taxis and buses). Bottom line: unless you’re here for a convention, you’ll likely want to stay in a more happening neighborhood, despite the hotel’s strengths.
