This elegant property is a surprisingly secluded retreat on the often crowded—and not always elegant—Costa Brava. It sits on a small peninsula that juts out into the ocean, with beaches on two quiet bays. The core of the property is a gleaming-white 1932 former private villa with a hint of Moorish style. Expanded over the years, it holds most of the guest rooms, which are confidently luxe in style with rich fabrics, carved and sometimes gilded furniture, and lovely architectural details. Superior double rooms have private balconies. You could easily pass many happy days exploring the manicured grounds and hanging out at the outdoor saltwater pool. There’s even a hammam for women in the spa. The Candlelight Restaurant and the adjoining El Patio de Candlelight (in warm weather) epitomize romantic gourmet dining.
