Kembali Lagi Guesthouse
This newly anointed Sanur guesthouse is already a hit. A surprisingly good family-run boutique guesthouse, Kembali Lagi offers personalized and friendly service, while remaining professionally run and a remarkably good value. Guest comfort and luxe, thoughtful touches are priorities. Even the location is ideal, in a quiet neighborhood in central Sanur, yet just a few blocks from the beach and within easy walking distance of main restaurants, cafés, and services. There may be numerous guesthouses in Bali's most mature tourist beachside suburb, but many tend to be on the mature side themselves (i.e., well-worn and a tad dirty—a common problem with Bali guesthouses). Few will be as sparkly clean as Kembali.
Rooms are tastefully appointed and prettily decorated, indulging in marble-tiled bathrooms, some fourposter canopied beds, and topnotch mattresses, microfiber pillows, and 300 thread-count sheets. All units provide either small sitting areas, private poolside patios, or verandahs. Rooms are compact, so opt for a larger Superior II space, with indoor-outdoor living and patio space. The two-bedroom, two-story Family Suite and latest addition four-bedroom Villa (sleeping up to eight) are private and independent while remaining fully serviced. The grounds are noticeably compact, but they do offer a communal garden kitchenette, a pool, and some pleasant spots to enjoy continental breakfasts.
In Bahasa Indonesian, Kembali Lagi translates to "Return Again," which many guests do; book well in advance.
