Chef-owner Jeff Smedstad brings his celebrated local reputation and his innovative recipes, culled from over a decade and a half traveling south of the border, to this popular restaurant. Elote, which means "corn" in Spanish, is also the name of a popular Mexican street food, corn on the cob. His roasted version, slathered in spicy mayo and topped with cotija cheese and lime, is not to be missed. The menu features locally sourced produce and wine, and such delicious options as corn-crusted scallops with roasted poblanos and smoked pork cheeks served with a cascabel chile sauce and drizzled with a cumin-spiced buttermilk. Arrive early and ask for a table on the second-story balcony to watch the fiery sun set over the nearby landscape.
