CGV Cheongdam Cine City towers over the sparkling streets of Cheongdamdong, one of Seoul's most well-to-do neighborhoods. Comprised of 13 floors, this upscale cinema has been named one of the best in the world for its unique amenities and Broadway-esque décor. The highlight of Cine City is its specialized theaters that offer film buffs of all ages an unforgettable movie experience. The Beats by Dr. Dre Theater on the seventh floor is the perfect place for the young and hip to sit back and get their swag on. Each seat is equipped with a pair of the popular sponsoring headphones, which are not only stylish but also great for canceling out disruptive noises such as moody babies, cellphones, and smooching teenagers. Speaking of smooching, the Sweetbox Premium Theater on the 10th floor offers couples a bit of privacy, with leather couch-like seating that conveniently lacks that annoying middle armrest. This theater is particularly popular with new lovebirds, easily recognized by their matching outfits. Children will especially enjoy Cine City's 4DX Theater, which offers a multi-sensory experience. In addition to the expected 3D visual effects, the audience is shot with bursts of air, streams of water, or billows of fragrance that correspond with the movie on screen. The seats also move to match the actions of the film's characters; although fun, the constant jerking can get a bit nauseating to those with weaker stomachs. You've been warned. Do as the Koreans do and grab a pack of grilled squid at the concession stand before your movie starts. (If you're a less-adventurous eater, the popcorn's not bad either.)
