Sharm el Sheikh Attractions
From go-karts to quads and submarines to snorkeling, there's enough to fill quite a few days. With few exceptions, these activities are safe, and many are kid-friendly. There is a crocodile show in Hadaba that looks cheesy and potentially fun from the outside, but it's an unhygienic rip-off once you get inside, and the quad safari business is a largely unregulated, caveat emptor situation.

Aqua Blue Water Park
This big, brand-new, water-park facility in Hadaba is a great place to spend the day with the kids. There's not too much among the 32 slides to hold a teenager's attention, but those 13 and under should be in for all the slippery, speedy fun they can handle. To keep the grown-ups… - Theme Park
Cleo Park
This water park is located up the hill on the inland side of the highway as it runs past Naama Bay. The entry and, indeed, most of the park are gloriously and unashamedly cheesy, with a Pharaonic motif applied willy-nilly to everything from the pylon-style entry to the rides. My… - Sports Venue
Ghibli Raceway
The track here is huge, and facilities include a grandstand and a full-on pit lane with a row of garages. Though it offers a selection of smaller karts for more casual drivers, Ghibli is really aimed at the high-buck, high-thrill end of the market with a track that can be… - Cooking Class
Go-Karts
With around a kilometer of track (it can actually be extended to a little more) and a variety of karts, Noos Karting can give the whole family all the speed it needs. While the kids putter about with the little 2.5-horsepower jobs, mom and dad can hit the track in anything from the… - Park/Garden
Ras Mohamed National Park
This park is a slender peninsula that extends off the southern end of the Sinai. It's chiefly known for the spectacular diving and snorkeling afforded by the reef here, which marks the intersection of the relatively shallow Gulf of Suez and the depths of the Gulf of Aqaba. It's… - Tour
Submarines
Making like a fish and swimming about with a snorkel and fins, let alone air tanks and weights, isn't the only way to get up close to the corals and sea creatures. In fact, it's probably a lot simpler to head down to Sharm al Maya, the bay just past the Old Town of Sharm, and get…
Sharm el Sheikh Shopping
While there are shops littered about Sharm, the only place where shopping is much fun, and certainly the only place that you have any hope of getting a bargain, is down in "Old Sharm." Here in the free-wheeling souk, expect to pick up a shisha for between LE160 and LE600 ($29-$109/£15-£60), or a mask-and-snorkel set for LE30 to LE150 ($5.45-$27/£2.80-£14). There's also quite a lot of jewelry for sale, but keep in mind that there's nothing higher here than 18k gold, and this should cost you around LE220 to LE250 ($40-$45/£20-£23).
Turquoise Souvenirs
Turquoise has been mined on the Sinai for at least the last 5,000 years and is sought after in the modern marketplace for its translucence and particular shade of green. You'll find it for sale in the shops and stores around Sharm. It's priced by the gram, and prices start around $25 per gram for small (1-2g) pieces and rise steeply for larger pieces.
