Frommer's Staff

This imposing church is also the cathedral of Soriano and the main piazza of the town is dominated by its grand façade. Constructed in the late 17th century by the architect Giovanni Camporese, it stands on the site of two earlier churches. The inside is splendidly neo-classical with light pastel colors, chandeliers and a wide dome covered with stucco rose decoration. Highlights to look out for include the gothic statue of St. Anthony, a 14th century triptych of Christ and the Saints and, by the exit, don't miss the Renaissance-era baptism font.
