Palazzo Albano Chigi and Fontana Papacquai
This Renaissance palace which runs along the side of the town was originally built in the 16th century for Cardinal Cristoforo Madruzzo. Although usually closed to the public and more recently left in a state of almost abandonment, the exterior retains some of its original elegance and the adjacent Papacqua Fountain is definitely worth a visit. The elaborate Mannerist fountain, which is situated on the terrace, was designed by Ottaviano Schattini and shows groups of allegorical figures in scenes related to water. Scenes include the god Pan and satyrs, Moses making water spring from a rock as well as four figures depicting the four seasons.
