For those who can't get enough of the Plage St-Jean and who appreciate a good meal to boot, this lively spot will not disappoint. It's barefoot-in-the-sand casual but solid enough to double as special-occasion dining—especially with that dreamy beachfront locale. The menu has a pescatorian bent (mahi ceviche, octopus carpaccio, spicy shrimp with green papaya salad), but a Peruvian chef keeps things interesting, serving up a great-looking Thai beef salad or seared foie gras with raisins and stewed onions. The Tuesday Lobster Night is a tasting menu of such lobster-centric dishes as lobster vol-au-vent, lobster potpie, and surf and turf (€49 per person), and a Sunday night BBQ fashions its island-style spread after the West Indian lolos (barbecue shacks) popularized on the nearby island of St. Martin. There's always cooking at La Plage, whether regular live music jams, DJ appearances, or fashion shows. It's open 24 hours a day in high season.
