“Darsena” means dock, and the town piers line the harbor just across the street from this brightly lit room with a terrace out front. Several generations of Siracusans have counted on Darsena for the freshest fish in town, displayed on ice in cases near the entrance. A waiter will bring some of the just-caught offerings around for your inspection, then take it back to the kitchen to be grilled or roasted to your preference. Riccio, sea urchin, and other local specialties are served raw and in a long, long list of deftly prepared seafood pastas.
