Lodge at Turbat’s Creek
This simple, clean motel isn’t exactly a “lodge,” but it does sit in a quiet residential neighborhood an easy 5-minute drive from Dock Square. It’s a good value, if dated, in a town that usually gives you sticker shock. The grounds are attractive and endowed with Adirondack chairs; the inn also supplies free mountain bikes for guests who want to cruise to town, and there’s a big, seasonally open heated pool as well. Rooms, on two floors, are standard motel size. They’re decorated in rustic pine furniture and painted cheerfully. The continental breakfast can be taken outside, on the lawn, in good weather.
