Watersports are offered on and around the lake, including water-skiing, water parachuting, sailboarding, giant waterslides, kayak trips, and more. Check at your hotel or at the Tiberias Tourist Information Office for information.

Beaches-The gardened Blue Beach, with a large swimming area, charges NIS 50-60 for the use of its lake facilities and a beach-chair rental. Open daily (in season) 9am to 5pm. We’d say it’s worth it. The NIS 45 fee at Quiet Beach (04/670-0800) includes a noisy children’s pool (ironically), and is open daily (in season) from 9:30am to 5:30pm. The Gai Beach, 1km ([bf]2/3 mile) south of town, beyond the Galei Kinneret Hotel, has an elaborate water park and a fine beach with all the requisite facilities; it charges a NIS 119 admission fee. Due to drought conditions, the coastline is often far from the beach, and pollution has become a serious problem, from time to time, at all the area beaches..

Horseback Riding-In the countryside around the lake, you can join groups for trail riding; call Vered HaGalil Guest Farm (tel. 04/693-5785). Vered HaGalil offers beautiful (and beautifully tended) horses for everything from well-planed range riding to 15-minute kiddie rides.
