Taberna El Botero
Set behind an old, red-painted shopfront near the cathedral, El Botero is a lively cocktail bar downstairs with a sophisticated restaurant on top. Everything, from the goldfish bowl gin and tonics to the carbón de bacalao (blackened cod), is prepared with precision and elegance. Be patient, that cocktail will be worth the wait. The restaurant’s small plates and tasting menus offer some of the most adventurous and attractively presented cooking in town, but they’re not cheap. Better value is the 45€ tapas tasting menu to share in the taberna downstairs, and the degustación de croquetas (25€),a slate-board selection of six distinct flavors from oxtail to green curry, is first-class finger food.
