We believe that steakhouses, like steaks and good wine, are better when aged. Barberian’s is anything but trendy. This family-run restaurant has been preparing some of the city’s best beef since 1959, and every Canadian prime minister since John Diefenbaker has dined here. Some have come for the thick-cut porterhouses; others were attracted by Barberian’s impressive 30,000-bottle wine cellar. Art connoisseurs should be sure to check out the collection of Group of Seven paintings displayed throughout the sprawling cottage.
