This delightful boutique hotel occupies a villa designed by the Modernista architect Antoni de Falguera, who also did the stained glass and wrought iron façade of La Boqueria market in Barcelona. The decorative paving, floral-patterned tiles, and elegantly painted ceilings here are a delight. Set serenely back from the esplanade, the hotel has ocean and castle wall views and many of its spacious, traditionally furnished rooms have private balconies. There’s a covered terrace restaurant overlooking the beach and an inner patio—a true hidden oasis with vine-covered walls, cafe tables, huge palm trees, and fountains— here a good breakfast, included in the rate, is served.
