Grand Hôtel de l’Opéra
If you’re after a great location, kicky decor, and friendly service, this is the answer. The hotel looks out over the main square and is just a 2-min. walk from the metro. Guest rooms are painted in strong reds, oranges, and blues with painterly headboards behind many of the comfortable beds (each room has different décor but they all have high quality mattresses). If you want a view of the famous square, be sure to ask; many bedrooms overlook the interior courtyard (on the plus side these are quieter). The hotel restaurant, Michelin-starred Les Jardins de l’Opéra is one of the top Toulouse restaurants so it’s expensive, though it has a good value 37€ weekday lunch menu. More modest meals are at the Grand Café de l’Opéra brasserie, also onsite.
