Au Pois Gourmand
Set in a mansion with the types of wooden carvings and balconies that might have covered a colonial house in a far flung corner of the world, Au Pois Gourmand goes well beyond “snow peas” (“pois gourmand”). Menu offerings are usually sumptuous, along the lines of lobster liégeois, piccata of roe deer from the Pyrénées, smartly curated arrays of local cheeses and for dessert pistachio and cherry cake with cherry sorbet. Guests have the choice of dining in the elegant, grey-toned dining room or on the large terrace that overlooks the river (it’s partially closed and heated so it remains open chilly evenings). Lunch is an excellent value.
