Among the newest museums in Tucson, the Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in the city’s old downtown fire station, conveniently close to dozens of restaurants and art galleries. While it holds nowhere near the inventory of its big sisters in places like Chicago and New York, Tucson’s MOCA contains contemporary artworks from around the globe, as well as works by numerous local artists. There’s always something going on in the big studio space, from talks to children’s workshops; check the calendar for what’s happening while you’re here. The last Sunday of the month is always free.
