Getting There -- There are a number of less straightforward ways to get there, and they're all spectacularly scenic, especially if you approach via the jaw-dropping Bainskloof Pass, but here's the straightforward route: From Cape Town, take the N1 toward Paarl (around 30 min.) and exit left at the KLAPMUTS/WELLINGTON R44 turnoff (the exit before Paarl). Take the left turn and continue to Wellington (15 min.). On entering Wellington, turn left at the traffic lights (with the R44). The sign reads DISTILLERY ROAD-HERMON/CERES. Continue for 30 minutes through the Nuwekloof Pass, and follow the Tulbagh signs.
