Divers in the know flock to this modest little resort, which specializes in dive/stay packages. Set in a renovated structure that served as Balfour Town's central store in the 1950s, the five one-bedroom self-catering suites here are spitting distance from the sea, each with a full kitchen or kitchenette, living room with sofa bed, and private screened porch. The helpful and congenial owner, Debbie Manos, offers dive packages through Salt Cay Divers (www.saltcaydivers.tc), a fully equipped PADI dive shop with an inhouse divemaster offering instruction at every level, whale-watching excursions, sunset cruises, and snorkeling trips to nearby uninhabited islands. You can have Debbie stock your suite with groceries or choose a meal plan at the Coral Reef Bar & Grill, the island's only oceanside café. The Coral Reef also has a popular Sunday Barbecue Night, serving delicious barbecued ribs, slaw, peas 'n' rice, and Debbie's swoon-worthy peanut butter and chocolate pie (reservations are required).
