If you're looking for a fun-filled immersion in TCI island food, head to Miss B's, the sun-splashed, big-windowed restaurant run by the personable Bernestine (Berni) Gardiner right on North Caicos' main strip. Miss B's is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (by reservation only for the latter), and you can start your day in high Caribbean fashion with homemade johnnycakes, boiled fish, or the pickled island specialty "souse." Fish is always on order, fresh-caught by Miss B's father, local guide Nat Gardiner, and served up with homemade peas and rice. Miss B does it grilled, fried, curried, or blackened. Don't miss the Wednesday Fish Fry (noon to 2pm), a seafood extravaganza of conch, conch fritters, fish burgers, lobster, and fried fish. Saturday night karaoke starts at 6pm.
