A great escape for a weekend or longer, ensconced on 13 acres of forest and Gulf shore, and most rooms have water views. There are two pools, one for kids, one for grownups, but I’d recommend you spend most of your time on the private, white-sand beach, where you can do a variety of watersports, stroll nature trails, lounge on chaise-longues, or hang out at the tiki bar. It’s all very peaceful and beautiful, which you’d never guess from the somewhat standard-issue facade. There’s a restaurant and it’s pretty good—but stick to area restaurants or, better yet, bring some snacks and stick them in the in-room fridge; once you lay eyes on the beach here, you may not want to leave for mere food.
