Isla Bella Beach Resort
Located off the beaten path and right before you head onto the Seven Mile Bridge, Isla Bella Beach Resort is truly an oasis away from the grit of Overseas Highway and smack on the water, with sandy beach, one mile of waterfront, and five oceanfront pools. Best of all, every room and suite features oceanfront views. And unlike some of the newer, coastally chic stays in the Keys, this one has a much-welcomed Greek-inspired vibe, with whitewashed buildings and bold, blue and white room décor. As elegant and upscale as it is, it’s also very family friendly and unpretentious—this is the Keys after all, where pretentiousness also goes fishin’. Daily activities, from diving for treasures and popsicles to nature scavenger hunts, will keep the kids busy. There’s also bocce ball, mini golf, giant chess, and even an 8am Seven Mile Bridge guided run for those who feel the need to do that sort of thing. For food, you won’t need to leave, though your tastebuds will go on vacay, with a Polynesian-inspired oceanfront restaurant, and a brand-new sushi restaurant. There’s also a takeout marketplace and, our fave, the beach bar, where more casual fare is served until 6pm, with drinks served until 11pm. A stellar spa stands by to spruce up the hair, nails, skin, and sore muscles. From the on-site marina, explore the nearby mangroves by paddleboard, or take a guided kayak expedition. Or do like we do, and do nothing by the pool, where we conjure dreamy ways of how and when we will return to Isla Bella asap.
