Hotels in Uruapan

The best hotel in town is Hotel Cupatitzio (tel. 452/523-2022; 1,000 pesos double), next to the national park. Its amenities, include a large pool and garden. On the main square, the best option is Hotel Plaza Uruapan (www.hotelplazauruapan.com.mx; tel. 452/523-3599). Two inexpensive options are the Hotel Villa de Flores, Emiliano Carranza 15 (tel. 452/524-2800), and the slightly less desirable but slightly cheaper Hotel Nuevo Alameda, Av. 5 de Febrero 11 (tel. 452/523-3635). Rooms go for 500 pesos in the former and about 400 pesos in the latter.
